CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police continue to investigate a shooting that left one man dead Saturday night.
The shooting happened in the 7500 block of Shady Lane around 8:19 p.m. The location is near East W.T. Harris Boulevard. Officials say they received a call about an assault with a deadly weapon.
When officials arrived they found 38-year-old Willie Thomas Byars Jr. suffering from a gunshot wound. Medic crews arrived and pronounced him dead as a result of his injuries.
