SHELBY, N.C. – A popular barbecue spot was closed on Sunday after a late night fire.
The fire sparked at the Red Bridges Barbecue Lodge on East Dixon Boulevard. According to the restaurant the fire started in the pits.
The popular barbecue establishment has been around for 60 years.
“I’ve been coming here since I was a baby and my daddy came when he was in high school,” said Mark Lail, a frequent dinner.
A message on the door said they anticipate opening again on Wednesday.
