CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg School bus drivers will join the morning commute this week to prepare for the upcoming school year.

CMS bus drivers will begin five days of practice runs this week.  About 950 school buses will be on the road Monday morning from 6 a.m. until  1 p.m.

CMS students head back to school on August 25th.  Some 400 Charlotte families will have to change the way they get their kids to school during the three days of the Democratic National Convention.

Friday, officers went door-to-door trying to alert families about the changes.

The district also mailed out information about bus stop locations and pick-up and drop-off times. Anyone with questions about the transportation plan can call 980-343-6715.
