TEGA CAY, S.C. – Neighbors in Tega Cay are fed up after another sewage spill seeped into Lake Wylie Cove.
The spill happened Monday, and a neighbor who lives in the area shared photos with NBC Charlotte. In the images you can clearly see the sewage swirling around in the water.
People who live nearby say the spills continue to happen, particularly when it rains.
Last week, there was another spill in the same area. Then, an engineer estimated 100,000 gallons of sewage spilled from the treatment plant off Marquesas Drive.
Both spills happened after heavy rain. The city manager tells NBC Charlotte he’s exploring legal options to get the problem resolved.
