CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Several people came out to support the “Soup On Sunday” annual fundraiser.
The money raised benefits people who can't afford to pay for healthcare. The 12th annual “Soup on Sunday” event was held at the campus of Central Piedmont Community College.
It featured soups from more than 30 Charlotte restaurants. There was also homemade bread and desserts.
All the money raised will help Charlotte Hospice provide medical services to those in need.
“On any given day, we serve nearly 1,200 people under our hospice and palliative care programs and we're able to help families at that most critical point in time in their lives. This is providing excellent end-of-life care for people who are in need. This event and the community support is so wonderful. It allows us to generate funds in order to do that,” said Pete Brunnick, CEO of Hospice in the Charlotte Region.
Sunday’s event also featured hand-made pottery made in Charlotte.
