GASTONIA, N.C. -- Thieves made off with air conditioning units worth $8,000 from a local church.

Leaders at Liberty Baptist in Gastonia say a neighbor in the community noticed that those units were missing.

Thieves took them sometime last week.  A police report values the two stolen units at $4,000 each.

The Pastor of the church tells NBC Charlotte, replacing the units, will be difficult.

“Being a small congregation we're sort of strapped for funds right now. so we'd have to raise extra money. We trust that they'll get things right and not continue to be doing this kind of thing” said Pastor Robert Ammons.

At this point, he’s not sure how much replacement units will cost. So far police have no suspects.
