DAVIDSON, N.C. -- Police are looking for two men in connection with two burglaries in a high-end Davidson neighborhood, including a burglary at the home of a NASCAR crew chief.

Police have a good description of the suspects because one of the residents walked in on the burglary in progress. That witness reported seeing two white men, in their teens to early 20s, trying to steal an Xbox video game console.

When the resident walked into the room, the thieves dropped the gaming system and fled.

The pair escaped in an unpainted, older model, grey four-door vehicle -- possibly a Toyota Camry -- with black primer paint.

Police believe they could be looking for two more suspects, who were driving through the area in a light blue Honda Accord.  That pair was seen approaching homes, ringing doorbells and then driving off when no one answered.

The thieves did make off with about $50,000 in jewelry from the two homes.

The NASCAR crew chief requested that his name not be revealed. Police said they do not believe the suspects knew the identity of the home's owner.

Davidson police ask that you secure doors and set a house alarm if you have one. Should you see anything suspicious or see the vehicles described above in your neighborhood, call 911.

If you have any information regarding these crimes, call 704-892-5131 and ask for Sgt. Poole.
