ROCK HILL, S.C. (AP) -- A 21-year-old senior at Winthrop University was found dead in her family's home one day before she was supposed to get her degree.
Anna Marie Hurst was found in the early morning hours Friday in her bed at her Rock Hill home. The cause of death is not known and the York County coroner's office says it is still investigating.
Hurst was a family and consumer science major. Her father, Chuck, worked at Winthrop as a chef for several years.
The campus was notified of Hurst's passing on Friday by e-mail.
Winthrop was scheduled to recognize Hurst's death at Saturday's commencement ceremony at the school's coliseum. Her parents were to accept her diploma from the school.
