LENOIR, N.C. -- Authorities are investigating what sparked a deadly apartment fire on Vance Street.
The fire started around 11:10 p.m. on Friday at the Vance Street Apartments. Officials say Shiela Jean Jones, 60, and her pet chiuaua were found dead.
The damage is estimated at $100,000. The Red Cross is assisting those displaced by the fire.
Officials say Jones lived by herself, there were no other reported injuries.
