CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say a woman was trying to beat the stop arms for the light rail train when it smashed into her vehicle on Sunday.
The crash happened at the intersection of Remount Road and South Boulevard. Fire officials said one person in the car was trapped, and it took a crew of 14 firefighters about 12 minutes to free that person.
Investigators tell NewsChannel 36 the woman was cited after the accident.
The Charlotte Fire Department said at least one person was transported to the hospital.
