YORK COUNTY, S.C. – Monday York County Commissioners are considering adopting new ordinances to mirror South Carolina's current animal control laws.
The vote takes place at 6 p.m.
Some of the new rules would require owners putting their pets on trolley lines or small fenced in areas instead of tethered to a stationary post.
It would also explain the definition of what is classified as a dangerous dog and exempt working dogs from the county leash law.
The new law means that female dogs who spend most of their time outside and come into contact with other dogs would have to be spayed.
