Japan Airlines announced Monday that grounding its Boeing Dreamliner would cost around $7.5 million (¥700 million).

According to the New York Times, Japan Airlines will seek compensation from Boeing. All Nippon Airways and United Airlines have also said they will seek compensation.

All Boeing 787 Dreamliners have been grounded after two incidents involving the plane's lithium ion battery, a battery fire on a Japan Airlines flight at Boston and an emegency landing on a All Nippon Airways flight after battery problems triggered a smoke alarm.

Japan Airlines currently has seven 787s and has placed orders for 38 more.

Due to the grounding of the 787s, Japan Airlines also announced the postponement of service between Helsinki, Finland and Narita International Airport near Tokyo. The route was originally scheduled to begin February 25th.
