LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) -- Two former sales managers for Humana have been charged with taking more than $4 million in bribes from a South Carolina company to refer insurance brokers their way.
In a bill of information filed Wednesday, prosecutors accused Glenn Fine and James Wegner of taking the money and referring insurance brokers and agents to Columbia, S.C.-based Cutler & Associates.
Wegner and his attorney, Robert Eckard of Palm Harbor, Fla., are scheduled to appear in federal court in Louisville at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday for a change of plea hearing.
Fine did not have an attorney listed in court records. No court date had been filed for him as of Wednesday morning.
Prosecutors say Louisville-based Humana cooperated with the investigation. A message left for Cutler & Associates was not immediately returned.
