Auto supplier to create 84 jobs in Lowcountry

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) -- A company that makes drive train parts for motor vehicles is locating in North Charleston and plans to create 84 new jobs within two years. 

Weber Automotive said Monday that it will invest $51 million in the plant that is expected to be operational by 2015. 

The Commerce Department said that since the beginning of 2011, more than 8,000 automotive-related jobs have been announced in South Carolina.
