PINEVILLE, N.C. -- The Belk store at Carolina Place Mall in Pineville now has a new look.

Thousands of people lined up for Wednesday grand reopening.

The new store sits inside 162,000 square feet and now includes a Coach shoe and handbag area.  There are also two new cosmetics lines and several new fashion and home collections.

"We have a lot more in terms of cosmetics and new merchandise lines. We have new lighting, we have new floors…It’s been completely redone and rebranded as part of our modern, southern style," said Jessica Graham, Belk’s VP of Communications.

Store officials say the renovations cost $6 million, and they hired 20 additional employees to accommodate the new departments.
