FORT MILL, N.C. -- Construction is on hold at three York County schools after workers weren't being paid.

A large new facility was being constructed at Nation Ford High School at 1400 A. O. Jones Boulevard in Fort Mill, but work on the project is stopped.

The Fort Mill School District had already begun work on a multipurpose room months ago as well as construction for a new transportation and facilities maintenance department and upgrades on the district's central offices.

But officials say workers on site weren't being paid by the contractor, Farley Associates Projects.

The district said another contractor may be used to finish the jobs.
