CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Mecklenburg County's liquor board has hired a new chief executive officer.
The last CEO resigned after a NewsChannel 36 I-Team investigation revealed liquor sales reps wining and dining local ABC board members.
Now, the ABC board has hired Paul Stroup, the former president of the snack company Lance. Stroup is a native of Charlotte and worked at Lance for more than 30 years.
The board will pay Stroup $150,000 a year.
The Mecklenburg County ABC board is the largest in the state and has more administrators earning six-figure salaries than Wake County and other large urban systems.
