Shoppers donate purses for a good cause

For the next month, you have the chance to score great deals on top designers all while giving back.

CONCORD, N.C. -- For the next month, you have the chance to score great deals on top designers all while giving back!

Retailers like H&M, Lucky Brand, Steven Madden and Vera Bradley are offering mega sales on top of the already discounted prices you'll find at Concord Mills.

It's all part of "The Annual Bag Sale," a time for you to trade in something old for something new.

Emily Zimmerman the Director of Marketing at Concord Mills says, "You're coming to the sale to get a new bag why not donate your slightly used one. Plus, it's an excuse to get a new one, maybe?"

Also, you're not just donating an old purse, you're helping women get back into the workforce here in our area.

Fontella McKayer with "Dress for Success" says, "The clients we see come from various facets of life. Some of them may be exiting a domestic violence relationship, relocating to our area, or have just been downsized from their jobs."

Dress for Success is a non-profit aimed at empowering women by providing a network of support along with the professional attire to help them thrive.

Here's how you can help. Head to Concord Mills, donate a new or gently used bag in the giant handbag bin you'll find in the Fashion Court next to Michael Kors and Coach. After all, we all know; If you look good, you feel good, so lets do good!

McKayer says, "We view a handbag as a finishing touch item, the suit empowers her, the bag is added for the additional spark she might need for confidence."

Plus, get this, when you donate you're entered into a contest to win a brand new Michael Kors purse. Give and get. Sounds like a pretty good deal, right?

The promotion runs through June 30th.
