My goodness, days like this make me treasure being in Charlotte even more. While my friends are still buried under several inches of snow in New England, I get to swear a spring dress to work… with no coat? Priceless. Now if only I could carve out some time to sneak away outside during lunch… hmm.
Getting to the deals. Do you use iTunes? If you do, and have an American Express credit card, you can get 5 songs for free!
The songs on iTunes are usually $1.29 so this is a freebie valued at $6.45. Just register your AmEx card at the website I provided, and you’ll be reimbursed a few days after you make your purchases.
Also in the realm of music… check out this study participation deal from Baby Genius. You essentially agree to try out a new music system for early learning, and in return you’ll be able to download over 20 baby songs to help your baby learn and grow. (So they claim.)
Up next, I found a coupon for the ladies to use at any Limited store. This is for $10 in “Fashion Cash”, and since it doesn’t indicate any minimum purchase is necessary, you could pick up a free accessory or maybe tank top. Not bad!
There are a lot of deals out there where you sign up for a “birthday club” and get something free on either your birthday or during your birthday month. Sonic has a Sonic Cruisers Club birthday club that can get you free a free CreamSlush, tater tots, and a drink. The food options sometimes change… but no matter what it’s good to sign up for, you will get something for free.
California Pizza Kitchen has a birthday club for the kiddos. Their club gets your child a free CPKids meal.
One of my favorite birthday freebies is from makeup superstore Sephora. You can sign up here to be a beauty insider to get your free gift. Last year I remember mine was a lip gloss set… and in years past, I’ve gotten generous sized body wash and lotions.
Oh, and Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, I believe CVS is selling Cadbury Crème Eggs for 79-cents…and with your CVS Extra Care Card…you can get a 79-cent gift certificate on your receipt which can be used as cash throughout the store…so it’s really like getting a free Cadbury Crème Egg! (Check the store ahead of time of course… you’ll notice there are a LOT of these Extra Care Bucks opportunities around. They’re doing it for Gold Emblem Jelly Beans too.)
Time to get cracking on my 11 p.m. specials piece tonight. I’ve finished the bulk of the piece, and now have to voice it and submit it for editing. Anyone who is planning a vacation in the near future will find this interesting. A Concord woman booked a $7,000 vacation on Orbitz only to find when she got to her hotel in Costa Rica the hotel didn’t exist! How can something like that happen… especially on such a reputable travel site. I speak with the travel pro, Pauline Frommer, from the legendary travel guides about what she can do, and how other people can prevent this from happening to them.
Have a wonderful warm weekend—see you on TV,
