CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Technology website Mashable.com is reporting Facebook is set to announce a major redesign of its website at a conference later this week.
Sources told Mashable the redesign will be centered around user profiles and the changes will be revealed at the f8 developer conference this week.
Facebook plans to launch a music and media platform and a soruce said the redesigned profiles will be more “sticky” to keep users on the site for longer time periods.
“The redesigned profiles are part of a larger push into social ecommerce. We don’t exactly know what that means," said Mashable' Ben Parr. "We’ve also heard that a Facebook app store may emerge at f8."
The company is not revealing a lot of information about the changes, but the world may know more come Thursday.
