The U.S. Department of Agriculture announced Sunday a recall of Kraft Velveeta Cheesy Skillets Singles.
The East Bernstadt, Kentucky, company, Truitt Brothers Inc., produces the product for Kraft, and announced 1.77 million pounds of the shelf-stable pasta and ground beef product due to misbranding an undeclared allergen.
According to the USDA, the products are formulated with hydrolyzed soy protein and dried soy sauce, known allergens, which are not declared on some labels.
The recalled products were produced between the dates of May 6, 2013 and January 16, 2014, and were distributed to retailers nationwide.
The 9-ounce microwaveable containers of Kraft Velveeta Cheesy Skillets Singles - Ultimate Cheeseburger Mac with a Use By/Sell by date code of “02 March 2014 – 23 October 2014” are affected in the recall.
Identifying case codes are 00210000432900, 00210000432910, 00210000432925, 00210000464000 and 00210000465100.
No other Velveeta or Kraft products are impacted by the recall.
