CHARLOTTE, N.C -- Newschannel 36 has taken a list of various store return policies and put them together for you.  Instead of searching around the internet, scroll below to see the verbatim return policies of several of the biggest stores around Charlotte.

Apple Holiday Return Policy:

Items purchased at an Apple Retail Store between October 29, 2011, and December 25, 2011, may be returned with an original receipt or Gift Receipt through January 9, 2012. If the item is returned in the original box, with the original packaging, we will exchange it or offer you an Apple Gift Card. Refunds will be granted through January 9, 2012 only when an original purchase receipt is provided and will be based solely on the original method of payment.
This holiday return policy does not apply to iPhone or wireless service contracts.  All other Apple Retail Store purchase policies apply and your statutory rights are not affected.

Walmart's No Receipt Returns Policy:

Walmart's No Receipt policy applies to items returned in a store only. You have the option of a cash refund (for purchases under $25), a Gift Card for the amount of the purchase (for purchases over $25) or an even exchange for the product. We also follow any manufacturer's warranties. You can make up to three No Receipt returns within a 45 day period.
Q: Can I return my Walmart.com purchase to a Walmart store?
A: All merchandise sold and shipped by Walmart.com may be returned to a store within 90 days of receiving it, unless otherwise noted in the Return Guidelines by Department chart below. For items sold by a Marketplace Retailer, contact the retailer directly.
Q: Can I get my shipping cost refunded?
A: If there is an error on our part related to your order, we will issue a credit for your order and any applicable shipping and gift-wrapping charges.
Q: Do I need to return the item in its original packaging?
A: An item must be returned in the original manufacturer's packaging, so we recommend you keep your packaging for at least the first 90 days after purchase.

Target Store Return Policy

Most items must be returned within 90 days and must be in new and unused condition. If returning your Target.com purchase through the mail it must also contain all original packaging and accessories. Some items have a modified return policy noted on the receipt and in the "Item details, shipping" tab for your item. The following items must be returned within 45 days: Computer Hardware (Netbooks, eReaders, Tablets), Cameras and Camcorders. GiftCards, prepaid cell phones, prepaid cards (including music, game and phone cards), or other items that carry financial may have varying return polices, check your receipt, the item details or shipping page to verify the return policy. The following items are non returnable if opened and may only be exchangeable: music, movies, video games and software.  Photo ID may be required for in-store returns. All bundled items must be returned with all components for a refund. Some items cannot be returned if opened. See the full Returns & Refunds Policy as some additional restrictions may apply.

Best Buy Exchange and Return Period:

Exchange or return your item anytime from the original purchase date within the timeframe below:
       14 days for computers, monitors, projectors, camcorders, digital cameras, iPads, tablets and radar detectors
       30 days for all other products
       45 days for all products for Reward Zone Program Premier Silver members*

*If you are returning a mobile phone or device with a plan, Best Buy is not responsible for carrier charges incurred after the carrier's cancellation period. Please refer to the terms and conditions of your plan to verify the carrier conditions.
Non-Returnable Items: Some items cannot be returned, including:
       Labor, delivery and/or installation services.
       Pre-paid cards such as music, photo, video or phone cards.
       Digital content.
       Pitch In™ Card contributions.
       Consumable items such as food, drink and batteries.
       Items that are damaged or abused.
       Items that are missing accessories, such as remote controls, cords and cables
       Etched or otherwise personalized item.
   Opened computer software, movies, music and video games can be exchanged for the identical item but cannot be returned for a refund.

Costco Return Policy:

Membership: We will refund your membership fee in full at any time if you are dissatisfied.
Merchandise: We guarantee your satisfaction on every product we sell with a full refund. The following must be returned within 90 days of purchase for a refund: televisions, projectors, computers, cameras, camcorders, touch screen tablets, MP3 players and cellular phones.
How to Return: For an immediate refund (including shipping and handling), simply return your purchase at any one of our Costco warehouses worldwide. If you are unable to return your order at one of our warehouses, please email customer service or call our customer service center at 1-800-955-2292 for assistance.
To expedite the processing of your return, please reference your order number.
If you request an item be picked up for return, the item must be packaged and available for pick up in the same manner as it was delivered.
If your order was delivered "curb side", it will need to be available for curb side pick up.
If the item arrived to you in a box, it will need to be in a box at the time of pick up.
Electronics trade in: Through our Electronics Trade In Program, powered by Gazelle, you can receive a Costco Cash Card for the current value of your used electronics. Visit Costco.gazelle.com to find the value of your electronics from computers to cell phones, cameras and more, then ship in your items (shipping is free), we will send you a Costco Cash Card for the total value of your used electronics.
 
Lowe’s Home Improvement Return Policy:

If you receive an item you're dissatisfied with, you may return it within 90 days** to any Lowe's store for a refund or exchange within our current return policy guidelines. For additional assistance, visit your local Lowe's store or call toll-free 1-800-44-LOWES (56937) and one of our customer service representatives will be glad to recommend alternate return options that may be available. Information contained on the invoice will be necessary to process the return or refund. Please have the invoice ready when you call. After the return period,** products will be covered by the manufacturer's warranty as applicable.
**30 Days for Outdoor Power Equipment and Major Appliances
Outdoor power equipment purchases and major appliance purchases may be returned within 30 days of the date of purchase, with the original receipt. Outdoor power equipment includes mowers, chain saws, generators, pressure washers and more. Major appliances include refrigerators 9 cubic feet or larger, washing machines, dryers, range hoods and more. Lowe's will repair it, replace it or refund the purchase price based on the original method of payment.
Products must be in like-new condition in order to receive a refund. Items still covered by the manufacturer's warranty will be repaired at no cost to the customer. Repairs not covered under the warranty are the responsibility of the customer.
 
Home Depot Return Policy:

Returns within 90 days of purchase and with a valid sales receipt will be exchanged, refunded in cash, credited to your account or refunded via The Home Depot store credit.
Return and Product Exceptions
-     Purchases made with store credit, gift certificates and Gift Cards will be refunded as store credit. Store credits cannot be used to purchase Gift Cards.
-     Gasoline-powered equipment may be returned within 30 days of purchase with a valid sales receipt. After 30 days, item may be sent out for repair at the customer's expense, unless covered under warranty.
-     Special order returns are subject to 15% restocking fee. Cancellations may be subject to 15% restocking fee. See Special Services Desk at your local store for details.
-     Cash and cash equivalent purchases, exceeding $1,000, may be refunded as mail check. Checks are mailed from The Home Depot's Store Support Center in Atlanta, GA.
-     Receipts for purchases made with credit, debit or check within the last 90 days may be located in our system. Ask a store associate about receipt look up.
-     The Home Depot reserves the right to limit or refuse to accept the return of merchandise at any time and for any reason.
-     Items purchased at The Home Depot U.S., The Home Depot Canada or The Home Depot Mexico may not be returned across borders.
-     Returns of merchandise after 90 days in Massachusetts and Connecticut, and after 120 days in Rhode Island from the date of original purchase with a receipt: Sales tax will NOT be refunded. Customers will be issued credit for the purchase price of the item(s) only. NOTE: Even exchanges of merchandise are not affected by this rule.
-     Customer Agreement purchases must be returned to the same store location where originally purchased.
-     Sorry, Returns Not Available on the Following Products: Custom made products and custom tinted paint, utility trailers, Gift Cards, Gift Certificates and Store Credits.

Macy’s Return Policy:

RETURNING ITEMS PURCHASED AT MACYS.COM  We want you to be happy with your purchase from macys.com. You may exchange or return most merchandise for a full refund, less shipping charges, based on the original form of payment, within 180 days of purchase. If you are returning a gift, you will receive a store merchandise credit.

In the case of an exchange, shipping for the new item will be free of charge. (However, we do not refund return shipping charges, unless we made an error.)

Return/Exchange macys.com items to any Macy's store
You may return most items purchased on macys.com to any Macy's store. Take your merchandise and this invoice (make sure bar code is attached) to your local store. Any Sales Associate can process your return.
Return macys.com items by mail
Use the Return Form that accompanied the merchandise shipment. We provide a preaddressed shipping label for your convenience. Misplaced your preaddressed shipping label? Print another.
•         Complete the Return Form, indicating item(s) being returned and reason(s).
•         Securely pack your merchandise with the invoice.
•         Ship US Postal Service or UPS using the preaddressed mailing label. Please insure your package.
•         We'll process your return within 7 days of receipt, though it will take longer to appear on your statement. If you provided an email address, we'll notify you via email when your exchange has been received and processed.
 
BELK Return Policy:
At Belk, we value your time; therefore, we are confident we offer our customers nothing but top quality products and services. However, once you make your purchase, if you are in anyway dissatisfied with your order once it is received, returning it is easy for either an exchange or a full refund of its purchase price*.
There are two fast, convenient ways to make a return from belk.com:
1) Return the merchandise to your nearest Belk store:
To find the nearest Belk store to your location, please visit our Store Locator tool, located on the top of any page of belk.com. Once you find the Belk store nearest you, simply bring in the item(s), along with your shipping invoice/packing slip (merchandise receipt) and the original packaging materials to any Customer Service area in the store.
Belk.com merchandise returned to a Belk store will follow the normal Belk return policies relating to the tendering of a credit or refund. For returns with a shipping invoice/packing slip (merchandise receipt) within 180 days of purchase, we will refund the full purchase price to your original form of payment.
*For returns without a shipping invoice/packing slip (merchandise receipt) or after 180 days from purchase, we will refund the lowest sale price offered in the last 30 days, credited to your Belk Charge or a Belk Gift Card.
2) Return the merchandise to the Belk Fulfillment Center (BFC)
For returns with a shipping invoice/packing slip (merchandise receipt) within 180 days of purchase, we will refund the full purchase price to your original form of payment. Please use the “Order Summary” section of the enclosed shipping invoice/packaging slip and indicate the appropriate “Reason Code” beside the item ordered and send this completed form with your item(s) to our Fulfillment Center (see address below). Please cut and attach the pre-addressed bar-coded return label (located at the bottom of the front side of your packing slip) to the outside carton. All merchandise needs to be returned in its original packing materials. Please note: Belk cannot accept any merchandise that is damaged in shipment due to improper packing, so please repackage all items properly.
