WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP) -- Two people are receiving the first doctoral of juridical science degrees from Wake Forest University, the school's highest postgraduate law degree.

Mohamad Basam of Saudi Arabia and Joel De Leon Quintero of Panama on Monday receive their Doctor of Juridical Science degrees. The S.J.D. students are pursuing academic or high-ranking government careers in their home countries.

The program is designed for international attorneys. It's also for students in a one-year Wake Forest program designed for international lawyers and students who have law degrees from institutions in their home countries and who want to study the U.S. laws.
