Mystery Powerball winners give back

The winners of the $487 million Powerball jackpot in July have claimed their prize but are opting to remain anonymous. NECN's Katherine Underwood reports.

(NECN) -- The winners of the second largest individual prize in lottery history remain anonymous but far from selfish as their attorney claimed the prize for them on Monday.

Trustee and attorney Bill Shaheen wouldn't say much about his clients, but did go on to praise the winning family.

"There couldn't have been two better people or a better family to win this money than these people," said Shaheen.

As for their generosity, the winners promised to use their fortune to help others, starting with a $100,000 donation to various charities on Monday.
