CONCORD, N.C. -- One man was killed during a shooting inside a Concord business early Tuesday morning, and later 35-year-old Chong Vue Lo of Albemarle was caught after a pursuit in Salisbury.
Concord police said it was alerted just after 5 a.m. of the shooting at Cabarrus Plastics located at 2845 Armentrout Drive.
Police said Pao Yang, 37, who worked at the company, was shot several times and killed inside his car in the company's parking lot.
The shooting stemmed from an on-going domestic situation, police said.
Later on Tuesday, Vue Lo was taken into custody after a brief police pursuit. Officers said they found his 2006 Kia minivan driving on Old Salisbury Road and tried to pull the vehicle over.
Stanly County Sheriff's Deputy patrol cars joined the pursuit, and Vue Lo crashed into a drainage ditch adjacent to Austin Road.
"The pursuing deputies made contact with the driver of the vehicle who complied with their commands and was taken into custody without incident," Stanly County Chief Deputy Major R. Kent Meyers said in a police report.
A bomb squad and other detectives arrived on scene after the crash to make sure the vehicle was safe to process.
