LENOIR, N.C. -- Police have charged a Lenoir man in connection with a shooting Wednesday night.

Lenoir Police say shortly after 9 p.m. 49-year-old Joseph Matthew Golds, Jr. shot Derek Enloe in his left shoulder as he sat in a vehicle following a physical altercation between the two.

Golds fled the scene, and was arrested at his home on Pisgah Church Road by Lenoir officers and Caldwell County Sheriff's Deputies. Golds was taken to Caldwell Memorial Hospital for a hand injury sustained in the altercation.

Enloe was also taken to Caldwell Memorial Hospital where he's since been treated and released.

Golds is charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and felony discharge weapon into occupied property. His bonds total $150,000.
