CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Authorities are investigating an animal cruelty case in northwest Charlotte.
According to a search warrant, 14 pit bulls were taken from a home on Faringford Court. Officials say the homeowner, Samuel Mobley, has a history with animal control for having too many dogs in his care and without tags or vaccinations. Animal Care and Control has responded to the property more than 25 times.
“On the property the resident has kept seven plus canines at any given time,” the search warrant said. “The number of animals on the property can be dangerous to the welfare of the community.”
According to documents, Mobley has been issued over $6,000 in fines from November of 2012 to December of 2013. Authorities seized seven males and seven female dogs.
Mobley was arrested Friday, he’s charged with multiple counts of cruelty to animals.
