CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Saturday marked a somber anniversary. It's been exactly 15 years since 18-year-old Kristen Modafferi vanished.
The Providence High School graduate had just moved to San Francisco when she disappeared.
Today, her family has a message for anyone who knows what happened to her.
“Please, please have the courage to come forward with those answers so we can bring Kristen home and be at peace,” said Debbie Modafferi, Kristin’s mother.
Kristen's parents gathered Saturday at the Children's Memorial Walkway in Frazier Park with a neighbor who founded the Kristen Foundation.
It helps families searching for missing and endangered adults.
“Everyone's life means something. Kristen's life has saved so many other lives.. Or has brought resolution to so many families of missing lived ones,” said Joan Petruski, founder of the Kristen Foundation.
The foundation uses donations to buy equipment for search teams, billboards and other expenses.
