LINCOLNTON, N.C. – Two people were arrested in connection with a shootout in Lincolnton that left a man dead last month.
According to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a call near a home on Painter Lane on May 6. When deputies arrived, they found 51-year-old Marion Palmer Yarborough suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Yarborough was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators said two men and a woman came to the home to commit robbery after telling the residents they were selling firearms. Deputies say the men placed several occupants of the house on the floor at gunpoint when a woman came out of a back bedroom at an opened fire at the men with a pistol. Two suspects ran from the home and fled the scene.
Detectives from Lincoln County arrested Terry Lamont Moore, 43, of Raleigh, in connection with the crime. Authorities in Wake County and the City of Raleigh assisted in the apprehension of Moore, who was charged with four felony counts of attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon, five felony counts of attempted murder, and two felony counts of discharging a firearm into occupied property. He is being held under a $1 million bond.
Investigators also arrested 52-year-old Vickie Asbury Currence, of Gastonia, for her involvement. She was charged with five felony counts of aiding and abetting attempted murder and four counts of aiding and abetting robbery with a dangerous weapon. She is being held under a $650,000 bond.
