CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Two men were arrested in connection with a Tuesday afternoon west Charlotte murder, Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said.
Investigators said Myron Billings was shot and robbed near a home in the 1300 block of Effingham Road near Freedom Drive. On Wednesday morning, police arrested Shaun Morgan-Dalton, 23, and Prince Edward Hannah, 23 and charged both with murder.
Officers said Billings and his girlfriend arranged to meet Morgan-Dalton and Hannah at a home. The men then allegedly took the couple's car, cell phones and money, but the girlfriend was not harmed during the incident.
"We heard something go boom, like two cars collided. We heard a lot of commotion," said Mershell Myers, a neighbor.
Billings was taken to Carolinas Medical Center but died a short time later. The stolen car was recovered on Rose Street later Tuesday.
Morgan-Dalton was arrested in the 600 block of Ambassador Street. He and Hannah are both charged with murder, two counts of armed robbery and conspiracy to commit armed robbery.
