FORT MILL, S.C. – Fort Mill police are investigating a shooting that left two people dead Saturday night.

Police said the shooting happened around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday during a party for a motorcycle club.

According to an incident report, the altercation happened at the National Guard Armory on Munn Road.  One of the victims was found laying out front of the building, and the other was found in a restroom.

Both of the victims, Reginald Javonte Strother, 24, of Columbia, South Carolina, and 47-year-old Steve Anthony Vandross, of Gaston, South Carolina,  were transported to Carolinas Medical Center where they died from their injuries.

Authorities said the motorcycle club hosting the party is not based in Fort Mill.

Several hundred people from multiple states attended the party, and a large portion of the crowd left the scene before officers arrived, authorities said. There were 100 different motorcycle clubs in attendance, combining for more than total 500 guests.

The motorcycle club that hosted the event said the two victims were not connected with their club. The club president said he hired security, but it apparently didn't help.

The president continued that everyone was inside the building at the time of the shooting, and no one realized it had occurred.
