LANCASTER, S.C. -- Police in Lancaster are investigating a Saturday night shooting that left two hospitalized.

Saturday around 10:30, Lancaster Police responded to the 100 block of Witherspoon Street on reports of shots fired.

Officers were able to determine a shooting had in fact occurred at that location, after locating two homes and two vehicles had been struck. Officers secured the scene and began investigating.

While police were on the scene, they were notified that a gunshot victim had shown up at a local emergency room with life threatening injuries. That victim was later flown to another facility for treatment.

Meanwhile, a second victim who sustained a gunshot wound also arrived by private vehicle to the Springs Memorial Emergency Room; authorities say that victim does not have life threatening injuries.

Police have not released the identities of either of the victims and are actively investigating the crime.

If you have any information that may assist law enforcement in this case, you're asked to call Lancaster Police.
