CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- CMS Law Enforcement has identified three schools caught up in a sexting scandal. Someone loaded 75 nude photos onto a Dropbox file and quickly spread the word on how to access it.
The schools are Hough High, Bradley and Bailey middle schools.
"That was actually the dumbest thing I've ever seen a female do. It was crazy to put your face in the picture as well," said a male student who did not wish to be identified.
"I feel like the young ladies had no self respect for themselves at all for doing that."
Investigators say they are looking at a large group of students who were involved in one way or the other.
"Anyone who is 16 years or older can be charged as an adult," said Rick Winniker, a former federal prosecutor who has prosecuted kiddie porn cases.
He says parents of the kids who participated should make sure they don't have any images on any of their devices, because there are strict reporting requirements.
"Just hitting delete is not going to be the answer necessarily especially, if there is a later search warrant or broader investigation and a person like that needs to call an attorney immediately because they could be subject to prosecution for possession of child pornography," he said.
