KINGS MOUNTAIN, N.C. -- Early Thursday morning, Kings Mountain Police say two women were robbed by a man hiding in the back seat of a vehicle.

At 5:30, Kings Mountain Police responded to Elizabeth Estates Apartments on South Cherokee Street in reference to a robbery.

Police say a black male in his 20s was hiding in the back seat of one of the victim's vehicle.

One of the women told NBC Charlotte they were warming their car in the morning before work. The man made his way into the car while they waited.

When the women got in the car and began to pull off, the suspect demanded money from the women and fled the vehicle once they complied.

The victims told police they assumed the suspect was armed. Neither woman was injured in the incident.

"Just give me your wallet or I'm going to kill you," the victim, who wished to remain unidentified, recalls the man saying. "So I gave him my wallet. That's all I could do."

The suspect is said to be about 5-foot-7 and was wearing dark clothing and a hoodie.

If you have any information on this robbery, please call Kings Mountain Police.
