3 charged in Monroe home invasion

MONROE, N.C. -- Monroe police charged three men in a home invasion on Sunday.

Police charged Willie Lamar Rushing, Princeton Patterson and Randall Andrew Miller with first degree burglary, robbery with a dangerous weapon, larceny of a firearm and four counts of kidnapping.

The three suspects entered a home on Venus Street, stole money and a gun.

"Our officers, along with help from the Union County Sheriff's Office, conducted a very thorough investigation which led not only to the identification of the suspects, but also the apprehension," said Police Chief Bryan Gilliard.

All three men are being held under a $200,000 bond.
