LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. -- Lincoln County authorities have arrested three people accused of beating and robbing a man who told them he’d planned to cash a “large” check.
The suspects were identified as Dalton Chase Scronce, 18; Matthew Joel Franklin, 32; and Ashton Elizabeth Stanley, 26.
Each are charged with felony robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.
Authorities said the assault occurred Wednesday afternoon in the 900 block of White Street in Lincolton.
The victim told police that a group of people had just returned to the street after taking a ride in his car when one of the suspects pointed a BB gun at him.
The suspect then allegedly dragged the victim out of the car by his hair and down the street. The suspect then took $1,500 from the victim, then walked away.
Sheriff’s deputies who arrived on the scene began looking for the suspects. Scronce was arrested on Wednesday, while Franklin was apprehended on Thursday.
