5 charged in Lincoln County drug bust

LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. – Deputies in Lincoln County charged five people following a lengthy undercover investigation targeting the sale and delivery of meth, opioids, cocaine, and marijuana.

According to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, undercover agents purchased small amounts from several suspects at multiple locations. One suspect sold detectives enough opioids to be charged with trafficking, police say.

Investigators charged the following individuals during the operation:

Kevin Alejandro Rodriguez, 24, of Lincolnton was charged with one felony count each of trafficking opioids, trafficking cocaine by deliver, trafficking cocaine by transport, trafficking cocaine by possession, as well as sell and deliver cocaine. Deputies also charged him with possession with intent to sell and deliver a Schedule II controlled substance.

Sierra Miranda Gomez, 20, of Lincolnton was charged with two felony counts each of sell and deliver methamphetamine and possession with intent to sell and deliver Schedule II controlled substance. Gomez also faces felony charges of conspiring to sell and deliver a Schedule VI controlled substance.

Dana Rochelle Gomez, 44, of Lincolnton was charged with one felony count each of selling and delivering opioids and possession with intent to sell and deliver a Schedule II controlled substance.

Austin Shane MucCutcheon, 18, of Denver is facing one felony count of conspiring to sell and deliver a Schedule II controlled substance. Deputies say he is currently in jail on unrelated charges.

Justin Tyler Garrett, 34, of Cherryville was charged with one felony count of conspiring to sell and deliver a Schedule II controlled substance and a misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia. Garrett has not been located, police say.
