CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Police on Friday released 911 calls made by motorists, describing a shootout in east Charlotte earlier this month.

Shots were fired outside the Car Stereo Warehouse on East Independence Boulevard Feb. 16. Rapper Wake Flock Flame's tour bus was parked outside the business when the shooting began.

Audio: Listen to the 911 call

Motorists driving along Independence Boulevard called 911 after hearing gunshots.

911 Operator: So no one was shot at all?
Caller: No, I was driving 60 mph but I heard fireworks, and I'm like, "Oh my God." He was holding a handgun from what I could see.
911 Operator: Did you see who did the shooting?
Caller: It was a bunch of guys shooting back at each other. They had a major shootout.

Six people were arrested and charged with firing into an occupied property.

Police said the suspects were trying to steal the rapper's jewelry.
