LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C.  – Authorities in Lincoln County have canceled an Amber Alert for a 3-year-old girl taken by her mother’s boyfriend.

Christina Koonce was found in Washington, N.C. around 1 a.m. Monday.

Authorities say the little girl was not hurt.

According to officials, 55-year-old Troy Lee Koonce, Jr., of Lincolnton, took Christina around 6 p.m. on Sunday.

The child's mother, Mary Bowen, reported to the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office that Christina had been taken from her home by force, and that she and her children moved to Lincolnton just three weeks ago.

Bowen says Koonce showed up at her home around 3 Sunday afternoon, then she, Koonce and the the children went to the store then returned home.

Then, Bowen says she told Koonce she wouldn't be returning with him to Washington, N.C., and Koonce proceeded to take Christina and flee in his van.

Christina was temporarily placed with local relatives while awaiting to be picked up by her mother.

The Beaufort County Jail says Koonce is charged with kidnapping. His bond was set at $20,000.
