CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg police raided a second sweepstakes parlor this week.

Police raided the Queens Gold Sweepstakes parlor off of South Tryon Street in southwest Charlotte on  Wednesday.

This parlor is near LPM Sweepstakes, the Old Pineville Road parlor that was raided Tuesday by police from the Alcohol Beverage Control Unit.

Authorities said the investigation was launched at Queens Gold after detectives received information concerning illegal slot machines and sweepstakes activity.

As a result of the investigation, detectives identified a combination of 24 electronic and slot machines in violation of North Carolina gambling laws.

The  machines contained poker, bingo, keno and other video games whereby players deposited money in order to play, according to police.

Detectives also seized more than $1,500 dollars in cash during the raid.

Brunelle S. Pace, an employee at the parlor, was cited for operating slot machines.

This was the second raid this week on a sweepstakes parlor.

On Tuesday, officers and detectives seized 26 electronic machines from a sweepstakes parlor off of Old Pineville Road and cited an employee during the raid, according to the police report.

Police say they have been investigating sweepstakes parlors since the ban in January; Tuesday, CMPD made their first raid and said it won’t be the last.
