HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. -- A Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools teacher has been arrested and charged with taking indecent liberties with a student.
David Cale Allison, 26, a teacher at Hopewell High School, has been arrested and charged with taking indecent liberties with a student.
The Huntersville Police Department says they began investigating on November 21 after being contacted by CMS law enforcement.
Police say their investigation revealed inappropriate texting and physical contact occurred during school hours on the Hopewell High School campus.
The juvenile victim told authorities that Allison sent "flirtatious" text messages during and outside of school hours, and on one occasion, there was inappropriate physical contact.
Huntersville Police believe this is an isolated incident, and don't believe any other students were involved, however, they ask if anyone has any additional information to please come forward. You can contact Lieutenant Kevin Johnston or Captain Barry Graham at (704) 464-5400.
Allison worked as a PE teacher at Hopewell since August 2012; this was his first job with CMS. School officials say Allison also served the school as an assistant coach.
Allison was suspended with pay on November 21.
