CATAWBA COUNTY, N.C. -- Police say they found methamphetamine hidden under a car's floorboard during a traffic stop in Catawba County.

Deputies pulled over 21-year-old Montreill Davis and 34-year-old Reginald Curtis on Thursday afternoon at August Street and September Lane.

The Morganton residents allegedly had the 11 ounces of methamphetamine hiding in a shoebox. Police say it has a street value of $16,000. The sheriff’s office says they also found a pistol reported stolen by the Longview Police Department in the vehicle.

Curtis attempted to flee on foot but was stopped with a taser.

Both suspects now face several charges including possession of a stolen firearm and trafficking methamphetamine. They were jailed without bond.
