CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A neighbor's surveillance camera captured burglars breaking into Katie Short's Plaza Midwood home Tuesday morning.

Short left the house early to go vote.  The video shows a man in a white Ford Explorer pull up three minutes after Short leaves.  He walks around on the front porch.

One hour later, four men burst out of the front door, carrying two flat screen TVs.  According to Katie, they also stole other electronics, family heirloom jewelry she inherited from her recently deceased grandmother and ransacked the house -- as well as the refrigerator.

"They absolutely made themselves at home," said Short.  "They ate my leftovers.  What I cooked Monday night for dinner, they had eaten it.  Butternut squash soup."

The crooks also left a trail of edible evidence.

"It was like they had a food fight with my produce.  Half of a zucchini -- bitten into -- and asparagus on the floor.  They must have been eating chips and salsa as they were walking through my house," she said.

Short said it appeared they lured her dog away using a pound of bacon.

Her friend uploaded the video to WhoRobbedMe.com, a site he created to help Short catch the criminals.
