SPENCER, N.C. -- After executing a search warrant, authorities in Rowan County arrested one person and seized crack cocaine and a handgun.
On Thursday, officials from the Spencer Police Department and the Rowan County Sheriff's Office executed a search warrant at an apartment in the 400 block of North Yadkin Avenue, following a three-week investigation into the sale of crack cocaine from the residence.
A search of the home netted seven grams of crack cocaine, drug paraphernalia and a .9mm handgun which had its serial number ground off.
The resident of the home, 19-year-old Sharod Raheem Mathis, was arrested and charged with possession with intent to sell cocaine, maintaining a dwelling to keep and sell a controlled substance, possession of a firearm with altered serial number and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Mathis was booked in to the Rowan County Detention Center under a $25,000 bond.
