LINCOLTON, N.C. -- A man shot in a standoff with Lincoln County deputies has been released from the hospital and booked into jail.
Bond for Tyler Kennedy, 23, was set at $500,000.
Police say Kennedy jumped the counter and demanded money from a CVS pharmacy in Denver on Thursday night. He fled without any cash.
Police pursued Kennedy in his vehicle. The chase ended when Kennedy pulled over to a grassy area and allegedly began to fire shots. Deputies returned fire.
Kennedy was treated at CMC Main. He was booked into the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center by Friday afternoon.
Kennedy is charged with attempted murder of a law enforcement officer.
