CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Investigators are trying to find two men who robbed and assaulted a woman at an east Charlotte fast food restaurant.

The incident happened Sunday afternoon around 4:30 at a Taco Bell in the 8800 block of Albemarle Road.

"I'm a single mom, I don't work, I'm disabled and they took every dime I had," said the victim, who did not want to be identified.

The 38-year-old told NBC Charlotte she had just left the drive thru and was about to drive out of the parking lot when she was attacked.

"One stepped in front of my car, one come up to my door grabbed me by my throat, put a gun to my head and demanded my money, and I handed them my money and they ran off," said the victim.

While it may have appeared the suspects came out of nowhere, they probably hid behind a trash dumpster.

"I always have my windows up and my doors locked, this is the first time I didn't have my doors locked and my windows up and this is what happens."

The shopping center where this incident occurred is always busy; there is a Target, a Lowes, and a dollar store nearby.

"It’s frightening, but you know what? There is violence everywhere nowadays," said shopper Kathy Parkinson.

Shopper Kealisha Smith found it hard to believe, "They are bold for that, very bold ‘cause like who robs people in the middle of the daytime."

The suspects escaped on foot. Investigators are checking to see if they were caught on security video.

The victim hates the thought of someone else going through what she did.

“Am I going to live, am I going to die, am I going to see my kids again, just give them the money and hopefully they don’t kill me,” said the woman.
