GRANITE FALLS, N.C. -- A two-month investigation led to the arrest of a Catawba County man accused of growing marijuana.
Detectives executed a search warrant at a home in the 1400 block of Conway Drive in Granite Falls on Wednesday morning.
Police say they had enough probable cause gained through surveillance of 40-year-old Jason Cy Lewis to obtain the warrant.
Lewis was not home when agents arrived. They entered the residence to allegedly find 34 high grade marijuana plants valued at $85,000, along with thousands of dollars worth of grow lights scales and chemicals. The operation spread across two grow rooms. The sheriff calls it the most elaborate indoor grow his office has seen.
He’s charged with three felonies: manufacturing marijuana, possession of a firearm by a felon and maintaining a dwelling to store a controlled substance.
Lewis was booked into the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office under a $100,000 secured bond.
