WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP) -- A former Winston-Salem firefighter has been sentenced to up to five years in prison on charges that he molested a teenage girl for three years.
The Winston-Salem Journal reported (http://bit.ly/12p2CbS) that 38-year-old Reco Madwell Eaton of Winston-Salem entered what's known as an Alford plea to a number of sex charges. An Alford plea does not admit guilt, but acknowledges there is enough evidence for a conviction.
Eaton was charged with five counts of second-degree sexual offense, three counts of taking indecent liberties with a minor and several other sexual offenses.
He is accused of molesting the girl from 2007 to 2010.
Eaton will have to register as a sex offender when he is released from prison.
He was hired as a firefighter in 2009. He was fired in July.
