Police say they began looking into the alleged activity after several complaints at the Day’s Inn in the 200 block of Blowing Rock Boulevard.

The operation included online advertisements soliciting sex for money, according to the police department.

Investigators say the women arrested agreed to meet undercover officers in exchange for sex. Fifty-four-year-old Phyllis Moretz, 30-year-old Arlene Alexander, 36-year-old Kristy Laws, 31-year-old Brandy Henley and 44-year-old Teresa Compton were each arrested.

Anyone with information should call police.
