GASTONIA, N.C. (AP) -- Gaston County authorities are investigating vandalism at Hunter Huss High School.

Officials said someone painted a racial slur and a reference to killing babies on the back of a building over the weekend.

School officials covered the words with white paint Monday.

Police say they've arrested a former student at the school and charged him with injury to property.

He was arrested after a witness told police they saw the former student's car at the school over the weekend.
